Everyone loves Tacky

So, I have been absolutely rubbish at posting anything! But I will try and make an effort to change this. I have been meaning to post this for ages, but my lack of motivation in any area of my life has meant that nothing has been updated. Till now!!!
These are a pair of earrings that I bought on a whim (but absolutely love them) they are tacky (not going to lie) but what is cooler than a bit of tack. I don't normally wear anything gold, but the slight worn out gold means they go ok with my skin tone. I love these, they are great for dressing up when you are going out, or if you pair them with casual jeans and t-shirt, then they can look great. First fashion only post...

These photos are from a while ago but are the latest fashion event photos I have and I thought I should put them up. A couple of friends and I managed to acquire some passes to the Elite model look competition 2011 (thanks to my mum). In the run up to the evening began the days and days of talk of what to wear (and the outcome of this conversation changed many times) Eventually we decided to go casual with heels. So off we went to be welcomed with champagne and v&t's and a room full of beautiful people. Models milling everywhere (you could tell which were thanks to their heads being miles above anyone elses!!) and lots of other people in dapper suits and lovely dresses. One woman in particular (a model) had a long red gown on and her hair done in the 20's style (I didn't get a picture as this happened before the blog) but trust me it was b-e-a-u-tifil. The event was sponsored by cirque de sole and so had some great entertainment before the runway show which included a man in a full onesie (face and all) in a plastic ball doing gymnastics and a burlesque style ballerina. A bit of a change...

I have decided to split my blog into two, a cooking blog and a fashion blog (partially had something to do with the fact that I cant spell culottes without spell check). This is the fashion blog, renamed in fine feather... and if you want to check out some of my cooking creations take a look at 'preheat the oven to...'
So as this is new (sort of) I officially say 'welcome' to in fine feather... and I hope you enjoy!

Tea Party

So, yesterday I held my first '1950's' tea party (didn't involve a lot of tea) but there were cakes. The only ones that turned out vaguely ok were the mojito cupcakes (humming bird), thanks to Tilda and her fab housewife routine.  Other than that we had a bit of a cake catastrophe (it sunk but tasted really good!!) We made vanilla cupcakes as well but we never got around to icing them...
A few of my friends came round all dressed up and the general merriment commenced.

Suede Shoes

I was going to post this yesterday along with my 'Curtsy and a nod' but my camera decided to run out of battery so I charged it last night and now here is my first picture!!

These are a pair of shoes that I bought that I bloody love because they are about as red as you get. And who doesn't need a bright colour on their feet when walking through rainy England on grey pavements. They are from topshop and are based on 'Brothel Creepers'. When I brought these home and my dad saw them the first thing he said was 'I used to have a pair of those in blue' (Maybe thats an idea for a christmas present)

Anyway I wore these out once and they ripped a giant hole in the back of my foot (Which caused me to put on numerous kitten plasters) But as soon as the hole in my foot has heeled (gettit) I will be wearing these all the time (but with layers of blister plasters) And I might try some clashing colours with them to see how that works (colour blocking and all that). Curtsey and a nod

I though that a good start to this blog would be a quick introduction. I am Zoë, still at school, just finished my first year of A-Levels (thank god) and have always been intrested in fashion. If I am honest who knows what I am going to post, I might attempt to make this a street style blog (but I am not entirely sure how people will react if I come up to them in the street... probably run a mile) or if I go to any fashion events post some pictures of that.  From the image to the side of my face, you can probable tell I like 1940's/50's fashion, but thats not to say I always dress like that. I think the best thing to do is to dress to what flatters your figure.

The food part comes in because I bake... alot. Just tried out some cinnamon muffins (with almost a whole lot of cinnamon) which btw go really well with apple sauce (stew cooking apples, brown sugar and a bit of butter in a pan) . This weekend I have got a tea party planned so will start posting photos then.  So when I get around to making something and if its pretty or just tastes good up will a picture go. At the moment the only person following me is Marianne (so hi Marianne as you are the only one reading this) But if you are some else (who is not Marianne) Hi.
